So, it appears that some ISPs are definitely into freeloading. Well, if you asked them, on an seemingly unrelated topic, I am sure that they would tell you how they are actually the good guys and Google, etc. are the freeloaders (the old "content providers" should pay for part of our infrastructure argument)
Anyway, in a stupefyingly crass move, free.fr has decided to blog Google ads and many other by default. Yup, blocking ads on their network it now opt-out.
Sorry to say but that won't do. Content providers have costs as well and if you wish to visit my sites without paying for anything, even going the length to excise static text ads from my web pages, who's taking advantage of whom?
Unless these guys change their policy to opt-out, all VoilaWeb sites will soon start blocking their IP block. And yes, this includes clicdev.com. I apologize in advance to our French users for the inconvenience.
If you too own web properties and wish to block such freeloaders, free's ip block according to ARIN is 212.27.32.0-212.27.63.255
